Our colleague and friend, Orin Europe, is laid to rest

Today, the Ministry of Education family bid farewell to one of its own.

Orin Europe was a valued member of our team, attached directly to the Guyana Learning Channel.

Orin and his two youngest children, Omarius and Orwin, died in the MV Barima tragedy. The children have been laid to rest in their hometown of Port Kaituma, Region One.

The Hon. Sonia Parag, Minister of Education, along with the Minister within the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the Hon. Steven Jacobs, and the Minister of Labour and Manpower Planning, the Hon. Keoma Griffith, joined Orin's family for the funeral service held at Memorial Gardens in Georgetown.

Together, we celebrated the life of a hardworking man who was helpful, kind and devoted to his children.

May Orin, his sons and all the victims of this tragedy find eternal rest.
