Our sincerest condolences on the passing of Former Minister of Education, Dr. Rupert Roopnaraine.

Sonia Parag, Minister of Education, joins with the wider Ministry of Education to extend sincerest condolences to the loved ones of Rupert Roopnaraine.

The veteran educator and former Minister of Education and Public Service passed away on Monday morning at the age of 83.

Dr. Roopnaraine served as Minister of Education for the period 2015–2017, and as Minister of Public Service from 2017–2019. He was also the former leader of the Working People's Alliance.
