Parag Halts Phagwah Celebrations After Siblings’ Drowning

Education Minister Sonia Parag’s Phagwah celebrations in West Coast Berbice came to a screeching halt after she heard of the tragic drowning of siblings - Jadon De Courte, 10 and Tianna De Courte, 8 - both pupils of Paradise Primary School, East Coast Demerara.

Minister Parag fought to hold back tears as she sat with the children’s grieving parents in their Bachelor’s Adventure home.

Minister Parag has reiterated the government’s full support as the family begins to process this unimaginable loss.
