PSA: Your Kindness is Causing an Infestation!

PSA: Your Kindness is Causing an Infestation!

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is warning residents that feeding pigeons is fueling a massive problem. While it seems like a kind act, it’s causing the bird population to grow "out of control" near our schools and communities, as noted by EPA Head of Technical Services, Ms. Michel Swanston Nurse.

The result? Excessive, unsanitary droppings turn these birds into a severe public nuisance, as seen in the severe pigeon infestation affecting the Beterverwagting Primary School and several others.

We will be working with the Guyana Wildlife Management to raise awareness, but the fastest fix is yours: Stop feeding

the pigeons immediately!

Help keep our public spaces clean and safe!
