A workshop was conducted on Thursday, May 19, 2021, for the teachers of the South Ruimveldt Secondary School to address some of the challenges faced by the teachers of the school due to the COVID-19 pandemic and focused primarily on self-care.
Teachers at the school had approached Ms. Odessa Roberts, the Guidance Counsellor attached to the school to organise such an event to provide the necessary psychosocial support for staff.
Wednesday's session was facilitated by Chief Schools Welfare Officer, Ms. Gillian Vyphuis, Senior Schools Welfare Officer, Mr. Sewpaul Persaud and Ms. Roberts.
Teachers were actively involved in activities to help them to recognise stress levels and how to take care of themselves.
