Pursuing climate-smart education systems
A delegation from the Ministry of Education, Guyana, is currently in Saint Lucia for a four-day workshop hosted by the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP-UNESCO).
This initiative focuses on developing a “Climate Smart Education System,” creating a strategic roadmap to build climate resilience and environmental sustainability across Guyana’s schools.
The team—comprising Ms. Marcia Paddy Andrews (ACEO, TVET), Mr. Joash Joseph (Engineer), Ms. Dahvis Calderia (Chief Statistician), and Ms. Renita Barnes (Chief Schools Inspector)—is working to ensure the nation’s educational infrastructure and policies are prepared for future environmental challenges.
