— Education Minister visits several city schools to assess their state of readiness

As students prepare to head back to school on Monday, Education Minister Dr. Nicolette Henry visited several city schools where she engaged teachers and got a first-hand look at the learning facilities to assess their readiness for re-opening of school on Monday 6 January.

“Well from what I’ve seen so far I have to say that persons are busy preparing for the new year and I trust that when we get to Monday that they will be fully and adequately prepared,” Minister Henry said.

Students can expect to start their first term of school in the decade of development on the right foot.

“The decade of development is really important for the country’s overall development, education is key to that to ensure that the environment is conducive as far as possible for those that are learning and for those that are teaching,” Minister Henry continued.

She further explained that preparations are underway to ensure that everything is in order so that students will have a conducive learning establishment.

“Aspire towards the vision of the ministry and that is to work to ensure that every child is taken care of in the education sector.”

Among the schools visited by the Ministry of Education’s team include Sophia Primary, Turkeyen Nursery, New Campbellville Secondary and Tutorial High School.
