Region 8 Statement on Mahdia Primary Washrooms

Statement from the Regional Democratic Council Region # 8 on Mahdia Primary School washroom:

“A refurbished 8 compartment sanitary block is being used by the pupils of Mahdia Primary School. Contrary to a social media post regarding 2 toilets that are supposedly used by the children. The sanitary block was completely refurbished during the holidays in time for the reopening of school.

The two toilets in question belong to the old sanitary block which was locked away from children. The regional administration was informed that an individual, bent on creating mischief and spreading disinformation, forced open the toilets and took pictures of the non functional facility.

The old sanitary block is also being repaired, which when completed will add to the number of washrooms in the compound.

The regional administration wishes to remind parents and stakeholders that the office of the Regional Executive Officer has an open door policy, accurate information is never far.”
