Response to Guyana Times Newspaper article '' AG report flags MoE over procurement of textbooks''

The Ministry of Education has taken note of an article in the 29th April 2019 edition of the Guyana Times titled " AG report flags MoE over procurement of textbooks".

On this, the Education Ministry wishes to state again that the findings of the Audit Office of Guyana (AOG) on the procurement of textbooks by the Education Ministry were inaccurate. It should be noted that prior to the publication of the findings by the AOG, the ministry carried out its own fact-finding and information proving exercise which revealed flaws in the audit process.

Notwithstanding the above, the MoE recognises the importance of the work done by the office of the Auditor General.
