At the conference, too, there will be the launching of a 200-page book, entitled – ‘Educational Leadership: a Guyanese Experience’ authored by Dr. Brian O’Toole.
Dr O’Toole is the Director of School of the Nations. By way of the publication, he was able to outline 40 years of experience on working on developmental projects in Guyana.
Both afternoons of the conference will see a series of workshops on the experience of the NGO ‘Epic’ which has done work with youth and children who have fallen foul of the law using the Baha’i model of education. It will also embrace the role of the Performing Arts in education, the Cambridge Certificate in Educational Leadership, the work of the 100 Million Healthier Lives programme, the work of Limited Resource Teacher Training [LRTT] in introducing a new model of teacher training in Nepal, Kenya and Guyana, programmes of entrepreneurship in Africa and their relevance in Guyana.
Registration for the two-day Conference at School of the Nations situated at 41 New Market Street, Georgetown, costs only $5,000 and will include lunch and snacks during the conference, according to Dr. O’Toole.
Meanwhile, on April 9, 2018, Dr. O’Toole said, there will be an Education Fair at Nations. The event will see universities and colleges from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and the Caribbean in attendance to introduce their programmes.
