Schools across Guyana reopened on Monday for the new academic year.
In Georgetown, the News Room visited some of the schools along Wooldford Avenue, where hundreds of children, all dressed smartly in their uniforms, were eager to head into their classrooms.
Education Minister Sonia Parag also visited some of the schools and spoke to reporters.
