#ThisIsUs | A series highlighting students and teachers across Guyana.

"Many students & their families are facing challenges due to COVID-19 so I try my best not to let school be an additional one for them.

I currently teach Agriculture Science and Physical Education to Grades 7, 8 and 11. When COVID-19 hit Guyana it was a challenge for me at the beginning but I soon discovered that teaching goes beyond the classroom and blackboard.

I was introduced to using ZOOM for classes and even branched off into using Whatsapp or calling my students directly on the phone if they didn’t have access to the internet. I also make home visits to some of my students and provide them with work so that they could stay up to date with school.

I want what is best for my students and every student. I try my best to go above and beyond given the circumstances and offer solutions so that every child can benefit."
