Yesterday, Chief Planning Officer of the Ministry of Education, Ms. Mischka White-Griffith, joined Ms. Jessica Anthony, National Coordinator for School Health, Mr. Akash Persaud, Senior Guidance and Counselling Officer, and Miss World Guyana 2026, Kelcia Nelson, for an empowering session at East Ruimveldt Secondary School as part of the Ministry’s week-long Student Empowerment Camp, held under the theme, “You Can Grow, You Can Change, You Can Make a Difference.”
During the session, Ms. Anthony, who leads the Ministry’s Anti-Violence and Anti-Bullying Campaign, conducted an interactive sensitisation session on bullying, encouraging students to promote respect and inclusion. Mr. Persaud spoke on the importance of empathy and kindness in creating positive school environments, while Ms. White-Griffith encouraged students to believe in their potential, embrace leadership, and make positive choices for their future.
Miss World Guyana 2026, Kelcia Nelson, also engaged with the students, sharing words of encouragement and inspiring them to pursue their goals with confidence.
