Schoolchildren all across Guyana, both in public and private schools, will get $85,000 each as the government expands its cash grant programme. Minister of Education, Sonia Parag, confirmed that the ‘Because We Care’ cash grant has been increased from $50,000 to $60,000. Additionally, children will get the $5,000 uniform allowance and a new $20,000 transportation grant.
