Targeted Teacher Training in Region 1 Aims to Boost NGSA Performance

Comprehensive training sessions were conducted across all three sub-districts of Region 1—Moruca, Mabaruma, and Port Kaituma—to address the deficiencies identified in the first National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) Mock Exam. The sessions aimed to equip teachers with effective strategies and resources to enhance student performance in key subject areas where weaknesses were observed.

Through interactive workshops, educators were introduced to targeted teaching methodologies designed to bridge learning gaps in Mathematics, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Science. The training emphasized formative assessment techniques, differentiated instruction, and engaging, hands-on activities to foster active student participation.

Teachers also received detailed feedback from the Mock Exam results, allowing them to focus on specific content areas requiring improvement.
