EdYou FM Honours Ingrid Baird for 30 Years of Service to Distance Education

For more than three decades, Ingrid Maxine Baird has been a dedicated and invaluable member of the NCERD and later EdYou FM team. Beginning her career in 1993 at NCERD in the Broadcast to Schools Unit, she steadily grew into a highly respected audio technician, eventually becoming solely responsible for editing programmes for the Broadcast to Schools Unit, ensuring clear, high-quality educational content for learners and teachers nationwide.

Known for her consistency, professionalism, and quiet excellence, Miss Ingrid also embodies lifelong learning. At around age 50, she sat the CSEC examinations, earning Mathematics Grade I and English Grade II, a powerful example of perseverance and curiosity. Warm, humble, and always welcoming with a cheerful “Hi dearie!” and a heartfelt “Safe journey” (or “¡Buen viaje!”), she has touched countless colleagues along the way.

Ingrid Maxine Baird represents continuity, progress, and diligence within NCERD and EdYou FM. Her 30 years of behind-the-scenes excellence have supported generations of learners and educators across Guyana.
