The Fourth Annual Spanglish Literacy Bee Competition
The Ministry of Education’s Migrant Education Support Unit (MESU), in collaboration with the National Literacy Department, hosted the 4th Annual Spanglish Literacy Bee Competition this morning at the National Centre for Educational Resource Development (NCERD).
This year’s event brought together talented participants from Regions 3, 4, and Georgetown, showcasing their skills in both Spanish and English.
The Spanglish Literacy Bee celebrates the fusion of two vibrant languages — testing students’ vocabulary, spelling, grammar, reading, and writing comprehension in a fun and educational way.
At its heart, the competition promotes bilingualism and biculturalism, empowering migrant learners to strengthen their language abilities while embracing their multicultural identity.
The Ministry of Education remains steadfast in its commitment to providing equitable and inclusive education for every child across Guyana.
