The Ministry of Education’s Career Guidance Unit (CGU) recently conducted visits to six secondary schools in Region Two.

The schools visited included the Cotton Field Secondary School, 8th May Secondary School, Anna Regina Secondary School, Abraham Zuil Secondary School, Aurora Secondary School, and Johanna Cecelia Secondary School.

During the visits, the students and teachers were sensitized about the assistance School Support Services can provide.

The coordinator of CGU, Ms Ashwini Sarran engaged the students in discussions about the opportunities available through the Ministry of Education and had fruitful discussions on mental health, financial literacy, time management and budgeting and planning.

At the Johanna Cecilia’s PTA meeting, parents were encouraged to help their children find their purpose by listen keenly to what students would like to become and do in life. They were also given tips to help their children find their career path.
