UNICEF Country Representative meets with Minister of Education

Mr. Irfan Akhtar, Acting Country Representative for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Guyana and Suriname accompanied by UNICEF’s Education Specialist, Ms. Audrey Rodrigues met with the Honourable Minister of Education Priya Manickchand today to discuss matters relating to the needs of the education sector particularly as it tackles the realities presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also present in the meeting was Chief Planning Officer of the Ministry, Ms. Nicola Johnson. UNICEF continues to be a strong developmental partner of the Ministry of Education and has been offering critical assistance to the Ministry to ensure the continuity of learning.
