Today, a team of World Bank officials met with Minister of Education, Hon. Nicolette Henry and a team of senior Education officers. The World Bank team led by Country Manager for Guyana, Ms. Galina Y. Sotirova is here to initiate discussions on the Systematic Country Diagnostic that the World Bank is conducting in Guyana.

The objective of the mission is to discuss with the government, private sector, civil society and key stakeholders the challenges facing the country to promote inclusive and substantial growth.

The other World Bank team members who attended the meeting included Ms. Abha Prasad (Programme Leader), Mr. Johannes Herderschee (Senior Economist) and Ms. Tanida Arayavechkit (Economist).

The Ministry of Education team included Chief Education Officer Mr. Marcel Hutson, Permanent Secretary (ag) Ms. Adele Clarke and Chief Planning Officer Ms. Evelyn Hamilton.
