World Poetry Day "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants".

World Poetry Day was celebrated today under the theme; "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants".

In commemoration of this day, the Learning Resource Development Unit in collaboration with the English Unit and Measurement and Evaluation Unit hosted a Festival of Poetry Event titled: "Rising with Giants- Circle of Poets" at NCERD's Library.

Participants showcased their talents through poetry and listened to recitals. Ms. Carlene Gill -Kerr; Executive Director of Waves of Emotions Organization, an activist in the field of culture, a writer, performer and producer, Mrs. Natasha Van-Lewin - Troyer, GSM, St Margaret's Primary; and Mr. Sylvester Mc Rae, Lecturer 11 of the Cyril Potter College of Education shared their talents with the students through poetry and spoken word.

Students from New Campbellville Secondary, St Joseph High, Redeemer Primary, St Ambrose Primary, St Margaret's Primary, and Winfer Garden's Primary participated in the event.
