Guyana has reached a significant milestone in its human capital development, with the first cohort of Guyana Online Academy of Learning (GOAL) scholars earning doctoral degrees.

A total of 14,064 citizens have been awarded scholarships through the Guyana Online Academy of Learning (GOAL) for 2026, bringing the number of scholarships awarded between 2021 and 2026 to 54,627.

Thirty-three (33) GOAL scholars have completed their doctoral degrees through Texila American University (TAU) in Guyana. This is the first group of GOAL scholars to earn PhDs.
